Terravera Foundation at Trondheim Tech Festival 2026

On 30 September, 2026 Terravera took the stage at Trondheim Tech Festival to show how sustainability data can become practical decision support.

The session, “From Sustainability Data to Decision Support”, brought Terravera’s approach to life through a real case developed with Fremtind. Elisabeth Gisvold, Strategic Advisor & Business Development at Terravera, presented the session together with Andrea Sævareid and Jørgen Brones Stenersen, former Model Leads at Terravera.

From data to decisions

Data modelling was exemplified by sharing the work Terravera has done for the insurance company Fremtind, where the models simulate a comparison of the climate impact of repairing, reusing, or replacing a damaged car part.

The results were striking. Producing a new part can generate 150 to more than 5,000 times more emissions than repairing the same part.

But the key point was not the number itself. It was how the number was produced.

By modelling the relevant parts of the value chain, organisations can compare alternatives, test assumptions, and understand the consequences of different choices before making decisions.

Repair or replace?

For Fremtind, we modelled the CO₂ behind every car claim. A new part can emit hundreds of times more than a repair.

Bringing modelling into the room

The audience included people from finance, consulting, the public sector, research, real estate, energy, forestry, and architecture.

For Terravera, that breadth reflects a growing need across sectors: organisations need better ways to understand the consequences of their choices and document the basis for those decisions.

At Trondheim Tech Festival, Terravera demonstrated one way to do exactly that: turn sustainability data into decision support.
